Marietta Wood Flooring is a hardwood flooring company in Marietta, GA with more than 20 years of work on wood floors. We refinish worn oak and pine, repair boards damaged by water and insects, rebuild carpeted stairs in wood, and install new solid, engineered and patterned floors across Marietta and the surrounding Cobb County communities.

Most of what we know came from floors that went wrong before we got there: boards sanded flat while still wet, new finish peeling off old wax, termite damage filled and stained instead of replaced. Those failures shaped how we work now, and they are why our estimates start with measurements rather than a square-foot price.

Our Approach

Worker sliding a bundle of oak flooring off a pickup tailgate onto a dolly in the driveway of a Marietta job site.

We read a floor before we touch it. A cupped floor gets a moisture meter reading first, and we wait for it to dry rather than grinding a humid-summer crown flat. Builder oak in Cobb County subdivisions gets its remaining wood above the tongue checked before we promise another sanding. Older floors are tested for paste wax and shellac so a modern finish bonds, and the build year is checked because federal lead-safe rules reach homes built before 1978, and clear finishes are chosen by the federal VOC category that actually applies to them.

Repairs are carpentry, not cover-ups. Termite and powderpost beetle damage is cut out and laced in with matching boards once the pest company has treated, and gaps left by removed walls, floor furnaces and registers are woven into the existing run. Water damage is traced, dried and photographed room by room before any board comes up, and stairs are priced tread by tread. When a closing date, an insurance claim, a condo declaration or a rental move-out inspection is involved, we write the estimate so the people on the other side can use it too.

We also tell you when a floor needs less than you expected. A dull floor that only needs a screen and recoat gets that recommendation, not a full sanding, because every sanding takes wood the floor never gets back. Carpet, laminate and vinyl plank can come out and hardwood go in, and terrace levels and basements get engineered wood, since solid boards do not belong below grade. Townhome and condo owners are asked to check their own declaration before work starts, so an association rule never stops a job halfway.
